New auto-focimeter donated to the NRC by Electrical Lab Services

The NRC is now able to offer those attending training courses the chance to practice on a SK-1000 focimeter, thanks to kind sponsorship from Electrical Lab Services.

This auto lens meter has a 7-inch HD LCD touch screen which makes for clear, easy and smooth operation, and the powerful built-in processer for greater measuring accuracy and speed. It also offers automatic detection of specific lens types, a built in sensor to measure pupil distance, and pupil height, or a progressive band length, and width, onscreen rule. Also, multi transmittance measurement is available at a click of a button – which includes blue light, green Light and UV. The removable ink pad and fine point pins make the refill process easy and cost effective, whilst providing an accurate marking dot on the lens. An integrated thermal printer with automatic cutter means operation has never been easier, with the added feature of User Assign to allow the QC name to be at the bottom of the printed ticket. An All New Auto prism ‘easy’ function allows the user to enter the vertical and horizontal prism into the lens meter, and the clever technology inside the lens meter then allows it to be centered with the required prism

NRC Operations Manager Mat Stringer says, “Liam Gill kindly reached out to me after we networked via Linkedin. He then offered his SK-1000 focimeter to our lab here at the NRC which is a fantastic bit of kit. It hosts a range of features suited to all labs and will fit in perfectly at the NRC lab.”
