Our incredible start to the year!
Quarter 1 has been and gone, so it’s high time we updated you with the recent events that have taken place at the National Resource Centre. It’s been a busy time for the NRC team, who continue to earn 5-star reviews (don’t believe us? Check Google!)
ABDO
It’s not the National Resource Centre without ABDO events! From dispensing exams to exam invigilator training, we’ve been pleased to host many colleagues from across the Association of British Dispensing Opticians during Q1. Exam season is almost upon us, and we are getting prepared to host the ABDO exams team and visiting candidates looking to earn their next qualifications.
Specsavers
As always, we have had multiple visits from the teams at Specsavers to run their Cert 4 and Pre-Reg Academy courses. We also had the pleasure of hosting their inaugural CLiP (Clinical Learning in Practice) course in January! We are always so thrilled when companies return to the NRC time and time again, and our work with Specsavers is a testament to that.
Scope
We have been fortunate to host two Dry Eye masterclasses with Scope so far this year. Maximising our fifth floor and fully kitted clinical bays, these events become hives of learning with guests leaving inspired and ready to implement their learning in practice.
Scope is also one of our digital sponsors, and we always look forward to hosting them for their regular masterclasses.
Positive Impact
Positive Impact continue to use the NRC as one of their main Specialist Club venues, hosting a number of events with us throughout the year. These sessions focus on Dry Eye, expanding delegates’ understanding of this ever-growing issue in optics.
AOP – Locum Clinical Skills Conference
The Association of Optometrists ran 2 days of events, including the Locum Clinical Skills Conference, back in March. This was a fantastic event hosting almost 70 guests that transformed our fourth floor. With multiple breakout rooms for lectures and discussions, this was an incredibly successful event that we hope to host again in the future.
What’s coming up?
This momentum doesn’t stop! Q2 has gotten off to an amazing start and we are fully booked before exam season commences in June. We’re looking forward to visits from the Royal College of Ophthalmology, Hakim Group, ABDO College and many of the companies mentioned above.
