The “perfect place” for practical assessments

Practical optical exams for students started here at the NRC in June and are continuing in both dispensing and contact lenses. We’ve welcomed more than 600 trainees in total, working towards qualifications with the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).

The NRC “is the perfect place to hold all of ABDO’s professional practical exams”, says head of examinations Mark Chandler.

This is “is a state-of-the-art location, which allows us to be flexible with our exams set-up. The facilities are excellent, and we are well supported by a small team of staff who are based at the NRC”.

Mark added: “I believe the students have a first-class experience.”

Exam results are due in August. We wish all the candidates well – it’s been a pleasure meeting the next generation of dispensing opticians and contact lens opticians. The future of the profession is looking bright!
