Busier than ever – professional training

The NRC is now in its busiest time of year, and it’s quite hectic.

We are supporting Specsavers with their Pre-Reg Academy, for trainee optometrists. They are here frequently over the next few weeks – we are expecting around 450 delegates for the upcoming events.

They use several spaces. The biggest is a large lecture area, created by opening half the fourth floor in a cabaret-style layout. They also require a classroom breakout area in a separate room.

Specsavers will be conducting mock examinations, using our clinical bays on the fifth floor. These are for the OSCE, the Objective Structured Clinical Examination – assessing performance in a simulated clinical environment.

We hope all our delegates enjoy the facilities and wish them luck with their mocks – and the real thing!
