Exam season – now for the next round!
February is looking like it could be the busiest month of 2025.
The team from Specsavers will join us for two full weeks, using the large meeting rooms and clinical testing bays for optometry students on pre-registration OSCE courses (objective structured clinical examination).
Afterwards, we have just one day to prepare for the Association of British Dispensing Optician’s (ABDO’s) student revision event week, using the entire fourth and fifth floors.
Then we have 1.5 days to get ready for another two days of Specsavers’ OSCE, as well as a new client holding IT exams.
Earlier this week we hosted the first ABDO exams of 2025. The Extended Services course allows contact lens opticians (CLOs) to care for minor eye conditions.
Just under 20 candidates undertook the seven stations which make up the event, facilitated by the Wales Optometry Postgraduate Education Centre (WOPEC).
ABDO clinical lead Max Halford said: “It was fantastic to witness the exceptional standards demonstrated by the CLOs in attendance. We wish them every success with their results. Thanks to colleagues from both the NRC and WOPEC for their support with the event management”.
ABDO is holding two extended services days (ESD) in 2025 – in March and September. Find more details here.
