It has been back-to-back events with hundreds of guests at the National Resource Centre recently! Our eighth year of hosting guests from around the UK for training, meetings, and examinations has started strong.
ABDO CPD Courses
The ABDO CPD team ran another brilliant contact lens masterclass in association with Bausch + Lomb. Delegates got stuck in with the interactive elements of the day and our clinical bays provided the perfect environment for practising these key skills.
The ABDO CPD team also joined us for their paediatric frames course, funded by the Heart of West Midlands Optical Confederation. Delegates were guided through practical sessions to gain further knowledge in fitting frames and supporting young children with their eyesight. It was an incredibly engaging event, with lots of smiling faces throughout (don’t believe us? Take a look at our social media pages to see photos from the day).
Dr Alicia Thompson, Research Director, said “A fantastic two days of paediatric dispensing workshops and discussions with highly engaged optometry and DO colleagues from the Midlands. Specsavers
The team from Specsavers have been with us to run their pre-reg and OSCE preparation courses. These courses provide graduates with practical and academic sessions led by industry professionals. With our lecture hall and clinical bays, students were able to get the very most out of these courses.
ABDO Clinical Conference 2025
We just hosted one of the biggest events in the NRC calendar – the 2025 Association of British Dispensing Optician‘s Clinical Conference! With over 150 visitors in attendance across the two days, it was a brilliant event. Keep your eyes peeled on our website, where we shall share more details about soon.
