What’s on in March – hearing care and dry eye training

by operations manager Mat Stringer

We’ve had an incredible start to the year with our busiest January and February to date – and March is shaping up to be just as positive.

This week Specsavers is back with us for some more hearcare workshops for audiologists. The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) is holding its extended services practical training day. Run by clinical lead Max Halford, it is part of the accreditation pathway for contact lens opticians taking further training to care for patients with minor eye conditions.

Next week optical suppliers and trainers Positive Impact will be running a specialist club for practitioners to develop their skills in dry eye. The firm will use the clinical bays on the fifth floor. Tyre retailer ATS Euromaster will hold a couple of private meetings.

Later in March ABDO College will be running a two-day course for optical assistants. We will welcome back Specsavers’ Academy, training optometrists in their final year before they are qualified to register with the General Optical Council.

We have also been doing lots of essential work behind the scenes, holding fire drills and testing smoke detectors and emergency lighting to make sure our delegates are always safe.
