Celebrating a busy Christmas time at the 5-star NRC
It’s suitably festive here at the National Resource Centre, with the Christmas tree and decorations. But that hasn’t stopped us from running some of our busiest events of the year!

What’s been happening in December?
Specsavers have been here running all three of their available courses for their employees. This covers their pre-reg students, graduates looking to gain their Cert 4 qualification as well as PQE exam prep.
The Royal College of Ophthalmologists have also been with us to hold their refraction exams in our fifth floor clinical bays. This exam is part of the Fellowship examinations and is an essential requirement for ophthalmologists. Did you know that we are the only venue in the UK to facilitate these exams with the RCO? We are extremely proud to host such specialist events, and look forward to hosting more exams with them next year.
It’s safe to say it has been all systems go this month and the coffee machines have been going non-stop! A big thank you again to Essilor, our coffee machine sponsor, who continue to ensure that all our visitors can enjoy a warm drink (especially in the cold winter months).

It’s time for a well earned break
2025 has absolutely flown by, and been such a highlight in the history of the National Resource Centre.
It’s time for our hard-working team to take a break and get ready for the start of 2026.
We will be closed from Wednesday 24th December 2025 and will reopen on Friday 2nd January 2026.
We wish you all a wonderful Christmas break and the best start to the new year in a couple weeks.
